To answer the first part of the question - you need to make a strong narrative about your vision after MBA and what impact you hope to make in the next 3-5years. Please note that NTU is not asking for your plans immediately after MBA - but after a few years - so by then you should be clear about your vision and be ready to make a positive impact in your organization or community.
To make a strong case for why now and why NTU - you need to find gaps in your understanding and abilities before you can successfully reach your career vision. Make a case that these gaps can be filled only with Nanyang MBA. Do research on the various aspect of NTU MBA program and show specifically and clearly how the resources and opportunities you will get at the business school will help you achieve your goals.
Reflect on your career to date and share one professional achievement that you are proud of and one challenge that you overcame. What did you learn from these situations? (500 words)
While assessing your career progression, give special attention to why you chose your career path and what made you move from one role to another. Simply repeating your job description from resume won't help. Use this space to give rationale behind your career choices. Ideally your past experiences will fit in a theme which will extend to your future career goals. Since you are writing about short-term goals, be very specific about the industry and function and geography you want to work in post-MBA.
The new expanded essay - also asks you to explain an achievement and a challenge you overcame. This part of the question can be addressed in two parts or you can have the same example highlighting an achievement as the challenge you overcame!
Through the essay, also give a hint of how your past experiences and accomplishments have prepared you for your future goals.
Team-work and peer-to-peer learning is an important aspect of the Nanyang MBA. Imagine you are working with your project team of 4 members on the SPAN project and one team member is not contributing to the project or not pulling their weight. How will you deal with such a situation? (500 words)
A very commonly asked interview question - seeks to understand your interpersonal skills and how you would behave in this type of situation. Your best course of action in such a scenario ideally, on a high-level, would be to talk to the person, understand and resolve the issues and gain their cooperation.
Briefly describe an activity where you created an impact on one of the following aspects – Environmental, Social or Corporate Governance. (200 words)
The social responsibility /sustainability write-up makes a come back from previous years. This is a unique essay and seeks to understand your interest and contribution to your organization and community in this regard. You can either take a thematic approach and talk about a few activities or you could describe in detail one activity along with your role and the impact you have made.
Since the time of your last application, how has your perspective regarding your future & Nanyang MBA changed? (300 word limit)
This is a very distinct and refreshing reapplicant essay.
Nanyang isn't asking you to innumerate how your profile has improved since last time, but rather how (if) your opinion and thoughts about your career goals and NTU MBA have changed.
This requires you to emphatically state why your career goals make even more sense for you - now that you have had more time to reflect and understand your strengths and desires. OR why you think you should pursue a different career path. In the latter case, be ready to justify with solid reasoning and passion.
Also, use this space to talk about any additional information you have gathered about the school and the MBA program which has convinced you even more strongly that Nanyang MBA is the right program for you.
NTU MBA application requires you to submit a one-page resume along with details about your employment and academics. The typical MBA resume format consists of employment, education, and extracurricular details.
In your NTU application, you will be asked to provide two MBA letters of recommendation - from your current or previous supervisors.
As is the policy with most top business schools, NTU MBA interviews are conducted only by invitation. Students typically would receive an invite 4-6 weeks after submitting their MBA applications.
